I'm going to blog about my experience with the Mirena procedure for uterine adenomyosis.

I am mwollosee from Korea.

Today I'm going to blog about my experience with the Mirena procedure for uterine adenomyosis.

Mirena

Mirena???

Simply put, it is a hormonal loop. Since the initial loop is made of copper, a contraceptive device designed so that the hormone lutein flows out for 5 years from the inserted device, which compensates for the inflammation of the uterus by copper. This allows you to not have to worry about contraception for 5 years. Menstruation also greatly reduces the difficulty.
It has the highest contraceptive rate and reliability of all existing contraceptive methods except for permanent birth control. However, because the loop is inserted through the cervix, women who have given birth are usually treated with it, but can accept it without it. Due to the benefits of reducing menstrual pain and bleeding volume, more and more patients are receiving treatment, with a growing trend of patients with menstrual hyperplasia. or (Women who don't have uterine diseases who don't want to get pregnant can also do mirren)

Once the device is inserted into the uterus, the hormone progesterone continuously flows out of the device, although it varies from person to person, increasing the viscosity of the mucus in the cervix to inhibit sperm movement and thinning the uterine lining to prevent fertilization. The difference with the traditional loop is that the loop uses copper to prevent fertilization, which forces inflammation in the uterus, but the Mirena releases hormones to prevent fertilization, so there is less risk of inflammation than the loop. theoretically.

Mirena

Advantages of the Mirena procedure

It is a very effective contraceptive and since it reaches the uterus with hormones, the amount of menstruation does not decrease much. During the initial procedure, bleeding is negative, but after a few months of adjustment, bleeding also decreases, and once you enter a steady state, menstruation rarely occurs, but it varies from person to person. For this reason, some unmarried women who do not plan to have sex also use the Myrna because they want to be free from menstruation.
Some women may feel a foreign body, but this is rare. If you do feel a foreign body, it means that the insertion was done incorrectly or does not suit your constitution, so it can be removed again. The procedure itself is relatively simple enough that it can be done without anesthesia, but since there are individual differences, those who are bothered by pain can often have it done under sleep anesthesia. However, in this case, there is an additional cost.

A single procedure lasts for 5 years and has very few side effects - you can take it out whenever you want, and since it is a reversible method of contraception, you will regain your ability to get pregnant immediately after removal.

Disadvantages of Mirena's

The cost of the procedure is quite high. In Korea, it costs 300,000 won to 400,000 won if medical insurance is not applied. Medical insurance covers cases where menstrual pain is severe enough to cause anemia or if irregular bleeding occurs frequently. In this case, additional ultrasonography is required and the insured disease should benefit. They don't do it unconditionally simply because they have severe menstrual pain. Still, ultrasound alone costs almost 200,000 won. But considering the cost of sanitary napkins, it's not that expensive.

Side effects of the Mirena procedure

It can cause irregular bleeding. It also affects menstruation, so there is no way to tell if the blood that comes out later is actually menstrual or illegal bleeding. (That's right.). I'm confused about what this is) most of the time I get used to it but some people can't get used to it even if I really hold on, but in this case I need to remove the device. (You have not removed it yet. Mirena is the best for me right now :)
Removing it will return to its original state, but relatively common side effects can be headaches, stomachaches, and pelvic pain. The probability appears to be less than 10%, and a probability of less than 1-10% can cause side effects of depression, nervousness, migraine, nausea, acne, multiple anemia, back pain, ovarian cysts, breast pain, and weight gain. Less than 0.1-1% can lead to abdominal distension, itching, hair loss, eczema, and uterine perforation, which can lead to elevated blood pressure, which is currently a statistical case (in my case, accidental breast pain). a feeling of bloating in one's. Port.
Weight gain) I've already gained weight Mirena. I don't think I can say that I gained weight after Mirena surgery. But I don't lose weight even if I exercise intentionally. After Mirena's surgery, <> months later, she also had an ultrasound for cervical cancer. Before Mirena, the ovaries were clean. But after Mirena's surgery, her doctor said she had a lump in her left ovary. However, it can disappear from the ovaries or after a month or two.  If it's a side effect, it's a side effect. So the best thing for me right now is that I still have to do Mirena.

👩
Mirena treatment was performed at the obstetrics and gynecology department of Pohang St. Mary's Hospital in Korea in early December 2021 and is being used for one year and four months until April 15, 2023. (It is inserted somewhere in the uterus). have an irregular hemorrhage. However, the amount of menstruation has decreased significantly.
The most important menstrual pain was also decreasing significantly. The adjustment is roughly over a year. It's different for each person... The doctor talks like this, too. It takes time to adjust...I went to the hospital after Mirena treatment in April 2022...I haven't been to the obstetrics and gynecology department since April 2022.Actually, if I was sick or uncomfortable, I would have gone already. For a year after the Mirena procedure, it was actually a little uncomfortable only during my period. There was a little pain.I soothed him with painkillers.
For a year after the Mirena procedure, I had pain during my period, but this year, I feel more comfortable than last year when I think I have my period.I'm in such a condition that I don't feel like I'm menstruating. My physical condition is so human these days. I want to run around energetically like I'm in my 20s. I should at least do that in my heart.
For those who are reading my comments...Menstrual pain... If you're having a hard time with menstrual fluid, I recommend the Mirena treatment. I was one of those people who didn't want to do the Mirren procedure... Honestly, I couldn't help but do it because it was my best then. After a year and four months. I'm glad I did the Mirena procedure. Let's live in less pain while we live💓

Posting on review of the Mirena procedure from December 2021 to April 15, 2023.That's it.👧
